- it's all relative -
this my familia + my wonderful auntie & uncle/godparents (mommy gene & daddy boy) smiling post birthday feast. i was definitely food-comatose after that but the celebration had to continue. unfortunately my other relatives couldn't make it cuz of some "drama" that was going on. but at least it was a good night.
my father is the oldest among his siblings. my daddy boy is the youngest. he's like a second dad to me - except way cooler cuz he's not so traditional like my daddy. of course i love my dad but sometimes i just wish he wasn't so uptight about certain things. daddy boy was cool enough to order a bottle of red to compliment the dinner. he's such a sweet uncle/goddaddy.
uncle: so you're finally legal back in the states. you can drink and party as much as you want now. (winking at me as if he didn't already know the things i did back in chicago, cali, and vegas - just to protect me from my daddy's glare)
me: yup. (looking at my dad innocently)
daddy: whatever. (addressing my uncle) if she's anything like her godfather then she's already done things before she even became legal.
me: (looking at my daddy then back to my uncle with a smile)
uncle: isn't that why you made me her godfather? (laughing) i mean think about it. the wild and crazy dna comes from us but we turned out just fine. so will she. (looking at me) she's already a bright young woman. she just needs a man who will keep up with her and love the family just as much as she does.
daddy: (looks at me funny) sure enough you'll make your husband-to-be a very lucky man. i just hope he knows what he's getting into.
