Vintage baseball game in Look Park, Northampton, today. Melrose Pondfielders (MA) vs. Elizabeth Resolutes (NJ). The game was played with 1871 rules, which prohibit gloves and catcher gear, foul balls aren't considered strikes, base on balls after 3 balls, and any foul ball caught on one bounce is an out, and pitching is underhand 45 feet from the plate. This was a really fun afternoon. |
