Robert E. Lee, most Americans know of this man. Our history tells us that he was one of the best generals we ever had. A big hero to the people of the south and admired by the people of the north. I love American history, have read many, many books on the Civil War. I picked up a new book last month. "April 1865 by Jay Winik"
What would the fools at Fox News and Karl Rove have to say about this American hero, if they were around in April of 1865? When I got too April 8, I knew the fools would make fun of him. Lee who was losing to Grant in Virginia, really wanted to keep fighting and join up with General J. Johnston army in North Carolina. But he was a smart man unlike the fools we have running our country today. Anyway on April 8, he sent a message to General Grant and said lets make a deal. Because he knew that the north had many more men and more food then he did and to continue a war that the south could not win would mean more southern boys would die. What would they say why "He was a cut and runner". |
