I love clocks, and this is a water clock. We found this in Georgia.
The fly ball governor regulates the amount of water to turn the water wheel which turns the gears to register the hour, day, month and year. The first one of it kind, in Georgia. Patented in 1798. You can’t see it to well but the fly ball governor is up and to the left of the water wheel. Were the water flows onto the wheel. |
