The rest of the story (7)

They didn't stop mixing and pouring for over 36 hours. Frank said the cement would crack if they stopped. The estimated weight of the loft is 75 tons. That's why they keep pouring for 36 hrs.
The barn is 33 X 50 feet the foundation is 2 feet thick and 5 feet deep. The loft is 8 inches thick. Frank named the farm site Castleswor Hill. The water from the well is naturally soft. He had 14 cows and 6 percheon horses for the work on the farm.

The stone house in the Town Chakio own by Smokey Van Kempen was also built by Frank who was well known for his work all over the area. The barn and his house were started in 1923 and finished in 1942.

The barn is located between Morris and Graceville on some back roads..

P.S. After post this on Fhotopages last year I got this comment on the photos.
This barn was built by my Great Grandfather. It is curently owned by my father. My wife and I plan someday to fix it up and live in it.
It would take ALOT of work but would be worth it.
Tom Schott

P.SS. Next week we will jump to a modern milking farm that is about 10 miles away from this farm..
