Read very carfully:
The republicans say they SUPPORT THE TROOPS, but when it comes to health care and insurance they go missing. On 4/12/5 United States Senator Patty Murray (D-WA) offered her amendment to the $80 billion supplemental funding bill for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The Murray Amendment would provide $2 billion in funding for a critical cost of war -- healthcare for America's veterans, including those returning home from Operations Enduring and Iraqi Freedom.
The amendment went down to defeat by a vote of 54-46 WITH ALL BUT ONE REPUBLICAN MEMBER OF THE SENATE VOTING AGAINST THE VETERANS' FUNDING. |
