This Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity that we are celebrating was established in the entire western world in 1334 by Pope John XXII.
From that date on it has been celebrated on the Sunday after Pentecost.
The Church invites us to meditate and pray in honor of the Most Holy Trinity by repeating various times a day, Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.”
In our Christian faith there are some mysteries that are incomprehensible to our minds. Nevertheless, we have to believe them because God has revealed them and God can neither lie not be lied to.
We can only begin to penetrate the mysteries of the Most Holy Trinity through faith. The Trinity is a mystery in the strictest sense of the word. It is one of the hidden mysteries of God and human beings can not delve into them without the help of God.
Through the Bible, we can see that God left footprints of his Trinitarian self in Creation and in his Revelation. But understanding the inner workings of His being like the Most Holy Trinity is beyond the limited intelligence of humanity.
