Offense has not been the name of the game for the A's early in 2005. But on Sunday, they let loose for seven runs, the final two coming on Marco Scutaro's go-ahead home run. Young Huston Street got the win in relief and closer Octavio Dotel earned his first save.
Manager Ken Macha boldly predicted that the club's hitters were going to "bust out" Sunday, and he was mostly right. Everyone in the lineup save No. 3 hitter Eric Chavez and cleanup man Erubiel Durazo had at least one hit as part of an 11-hit attack. In the first two games of the series, the A's scored a total of two runs on eight hits.
